Today, it is not uncommon that a college student chooses “undecided” as a major; one can even remain “undecided” for two years. This would never work for me. It is of my character that I always prefer to know what I’m doing, where I’m going, and what path I’m headed down. With my plans to major in [major] at [college], I know exactly what I want and where I will be headed. From the start, [college]has been my main choice; its campus and overall attitudes fit me perfectly. This complete match will help me to excel in the one area of study I am truly fascinated by, [major]. I hope to graduate from the [college] with a degree in [major], as well as a greater understanding of the nature of the job market for my field. I aspire to [what job you hope to have once you graduate].
Two of my main personal characteristics that set me apart from others are [leadership and intellectual curiosity].((*Describe the two listed characteristics, with specific examples: Don't use this exact text!)) I have had numerous leadership positions in many organizations, and I take pride in each experience. Through the years, I have learned much about myself: how loyal I am to causes I believe in, my drive to be the best, and my immense ability to complete a myriad of responsibilities within a deadline. Within my experiences, I have learned inexplicably how to govern over a multitude of different situations with class, respect, and maturity. In addition, I perceive myself as very intellectually curious; I am constantly striving to learn and know more, especially in topics that interest me personally. This quality drives me particularly in my desire to know more about current and past politics. I can often be seen reading political books, reading news magazines, or debating others on hot issues. As cliché as it is, I believe that knowledge is power, because the more that one knows, the farther one can go and the more one can succeed.
As one to whom learning comes rather naturally, it is only expected that I am eager to begin the new segment of my life that starts with college education. This upper education will provide me now with an experience I crave so much- learning primarily the subjects I choose, those that will actually further my career.
